Choosing the Right Size
Industry standards recommend one-eighth inch of rope diameter for every 8–10 feet of boat length, depending on vessel size and weight. Heavier or taller boats benefit from the 1/8" per 8' rule, while lighter recreational boats are well-suited to 1/8" per 9–10'. This ensures the right balance of strength, stretch, and handling.
